Programming
The CPM 5188A Card Meter can be programmed to meet a customers specific requirements. Each meter has an optional interface por t incorporated in the front fascia. Using hand-held programmers supplied by Tiger Meters the meters parameters can be reconfigured for : tarriff updates as well as Emergency Credit Fixed Charge, the remaining credit can also be reset to zero. Push-button re-programming is also available for individual meters.
Emergency Credit
In order to prevent supply disconnections out of office hours the CPM comes eqipped with a push-button Emergency Credit facility. The level of Emergency Credit can be preset by the operator using the programming methods described.
If the remaining credit drops below £1 the meter will emit a high-pitched tone for 30 seconds followed by a shor t beep at 30 second individuals. If card tokens are not available to the consumer the Emergency Credit can be invoked by pressing the GREY button on the front of the meter. The E.C. facility can only be used once and is automatically repaid and reset the next time card tokens are inserted.
Disconnection Override
For additional peace of mind the CPM can also be programmed with a disconnection override period. During a specified time period ie: out of office hours, the meter will not disconnect power if the credit expires.
Fixed Weekly Charge
In addition to the normal pence per unit tariff it is possible to programme the CPM with a separate Fixed Weekly Charge. This facility is useful for applying a Ser vice Charge in order to recover ongoing overheads for renting a consumers electricity supply and meter etc. Fixed Weekly Charges can be preset for each meter using the programming methods described.
Debt Collection
The CPM also has a Debt Collection feature which operates independently of the Fixed Charge facility.
The Debt Collection feature is par ticularly useful in situations where the landlord wants to recover a fixed amount of debt over a set period of time, such as electricity arrears. Once the debt has been recovered by the CPM it is automatically removed from the meter.
Magnetically Encoded Cards
The CPM uses disposble card tokens to transfer pre-paid credits to the meter. This simple
solution provides a low cost cashless infrastructure from the supplier to the consumers meter. Credits can be purchased in 10kwh and 25kwh denominations. The cards are also security coded for revenue protection and unique site codes can be issued on request, subject to minimum order.
Suppliers of Secure Coded Cards
Security cards are available from our agents who are specially vetted and checked before being authorised as a reseller. They are available in many outlets in your locality. Please note that security cards cannot be supplied unless you are the registered occupier of the accommodation.
